Error: Connect To The Internet To Upload Report Attachments

Troubleshooting: Unable to Upload Attachments After Submitting a Report (Android)

If, after submitting a report with attachments, you see the following error message:

and you do have a stable Wi-Fi or mobile data connection, the issue may be caused by corrupted or outdated app cache rather than your internet connection. Clearing the cache can resolve this by forcing the app to rebuild its temporary files and upload queue.

This issue tends to occur more frequently on Android devices because Android apps store larger amounts of temporary data (cache) locally to speed up performance. Over time, this cache can become outdated or corrupted, especially after updates or heavy app usage, leading to upload errors even when the internet connection is strong.

Before Trying Fixes

  • Stay connected to a strong Wi‑Fi or mobile data signal.
  • Keep the app open in the foreground.
  • Wait at least 2–3 minutes to allow pending uploads to finish.

If the error persists, follow the steps below.

Step-by-Step: Clear Cache and Data (Android)

Clear Cache (Safe)

Android 13/14 (most devices):

  1. Open Settings > Apps.

  2. Tap Officer Apps.

  3. Tap Storage & cache (or Storage).

  4. Tap Clear Data.

iOS:

For iOS devices, we recommend deleting and reinstalling the app, since iOS does not provide an option to manually clear an app’s data. This process removes all locally stored files and settings for the app, ensuring you start fresh when you reinstall it from the App Store.

Still Need Help?

If uploads continue to fail, contact your supervisor or OfficerReports Support with:
